Garey Raymond P.T., owner and director of Finishline Physical Therapy became exposed to the rehabilitation field after suffering a traumatic orthopaedic footbal injury in his sophomore year in highschool. The injury, a fracture of his right femur, was so devastating that the surgical team considered amputating the leg. A vascular surgeon was on hand at Yale University Hospital to suture the artery and save the leg. That was the easy part.
Having faced the proposition of not walking again, Garey hit the rehab road hard, successfully completing physical therapy and returning that season to football. This began an interest in becoming a physical therapist to help others recover from such medical problems. He went on to graduate from the University of New England in Maine with a B.S. in physical therapy. Working in a sports medicine clinic in Conneticut, Garey gained exposure to all orthopaedic cases including working with Olympic atheletes. Soon, Garey moved to California to pursue the dream of owning his own clinic/rehab center and began racing cars (thus the name Finishline).
After his success as a vintage/historic porshe racecar driver, Garey opened his own private clinic and began building his gym. Now in its third year and growing, Finishline Physical Therapy provides the Los Angeles community with healthcare services and general wellness education.
